Strangers on a Bridge to Nowhere
While concentrating on setting-up this shot I suddenly felt her hand on my shoulder.
“Sometimes you should stop and smell the sunset,” she whispered. Eastern European, Slovenia maybe?
I took the shot, turned, and stared as she walked away. Then I looked down and saw the word stenciled on the bridge. I shall never forget her and always wonder who she was.
Sunset on the Houston Skyline, June 6th 2016
Notes:
The incident took place on the walking bridge spanning Buffalo Bayou near the intersection of Allen Parkway and Studemont … it happened exactly as I wrote it
Fleeting can only be a moment within a set of moments. It is left to the author to define.
